Hello from Gary.
This is sort of ”OT” (off topic) - - so what?
I watched a “featured” video that came up on the news a couple of days ago, and since it was so reminiscent of a couple of posts I’ve made (see 12-02-06 and Kiev Metro video clip posted 01-19-07), I decided to post the video on our “Misc. Video Clips” page for those of you who have not yet seen it.
If you have already seen it, here is a note of information. I’ve seen the clip advertised as portraying the “longest escalator in the world”. That’s not true. It’s a stunt on the longest escalator in Western Europe. According to Wikipedia, the longest escalators in the world are found on the metro systems in several cities in Eastern Europe; specifically, those in St. Petersburg, Kiev, Prague and Moscow.
Also of interest, when I did a YouTube search for the URL to the video, I got lots more hits than I expected. Hey, what’s this all about? A new craziness has made the scene. Perhaps we’re witnessing the birth of the next Olympic sport - - -
HEADLINE, can you see it? “Max Weirdness sets world record for Escalator Skiing - - 12.32 seconds and only 7 broken bones. Former ex-girlfriend says she knew all along he could be the fastest”.
After this no doubt will come motorized roller skate racing down San Francisco’s Lombard Street (the crookedest street in the world). Note - - the “green” version of this race will require contestants to be completely solar powered (for brake assist, don’t ya know).
O.K., enjoy the vid on our “Misc. Video Clips” page. Meanwhile, I’m going to see if my ticket back to reality is still valid.
BTU Until next time, Gary.
