As is obvious from all of our reviews, cost is never an element of our analysis of our various recommendations. This is true for our products reviews as well as for our services reviews such as our A Foreign Affair Review.
The primary reason for not reviewing on cost is because cost is a relative issue. It’s very much like “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. What’s cheap for one person may be exorbitant for another. Our only break off point is that we will not recommend any product or service that is grossly overpriced relative to competing offerings. But again, that’s from our perspective.
So YOU must decide what something is worth for you. If comparisons are important to you then you must do them on your own. We will only highlight for you the quality - - non-cost associated value points of any product or service recommended on our site.
Thus, we obviously have some issues and perspectives when it comes to discussions of cost for the services we recommend.
BUT when we come across multiple occurrences on the Internet where costs for a service we recommend are grossly overstated, our hackles are raised and it’s time to speak out.
Such is the case when it comes to the issue of costs for a man to use A Foreign Affair to find and communicate with a foreign woman for marriage. There are several sites on the Internet where the true costs are totally misrepresented.
The primary falsehood being put forth on the Internet about A Foreign Affair is that to use their Loveme.com site to find a foreign woman for marriage, a man must pay up to $10 for EACH e-mail he sends to a woman and that before he finally meets his woman he will have spent several thousands of dollars just in e-mail costs.
THIS IS TOTAL B.S.!
Here are the FACTS.
A. You must pay for women’s addresses and there are several plans available to choose from depending on how many women you want to contact. You’ll need to pay up to $12.00 per address, but the smartest choice is to get a platinum membership that allows you 100 addresses per month for a $29.95 monthly membership fee.
B. You must pay for the FIRST e-mail you send to EACH woman. Again there are multiple plans to choose from but in general it will cost between $7.49 (platinum membership) to $9.99 for that first e-mail. It’s a fair and reasonable price because there is manual processing required by the agency to satisfy IMBRA requirements for this first e-mail.
C. After your first e-mail to a woman, if she has a computer and shares her e-mail address with you - - There are no more costs to communicate with her.
Hence your total out of pocket cost to select and write to one woman can be as low as $21.99 - - FOREVER. So by selecting well and writing well you can actually meet your dream girl for less than $22. That’s less than the cost of a couple of drinks for you and a prospective date at your local pickup joint.
BUT this example is just to illustrate the truth about A Foreign Affair’s costs. We don’t recommend that you pursue a “I’ll try it once” strategy since the odds are that you’re not likely to find your “perfect” lady that easily. On the other hand, maybe you’re the lucky type. It can and does happen. I know because it happened to me.
But I was lucky. Maybe you will be too. Following are some tips to help improve your odds.
TIPS:
1. Study the letter writing tips on A Foreign Affair’s home page. There’s a link to the tips farther down on the left side panel. check it out at
2. Study each woman’s profile carefully. Bodies and faces are great but words are more important. If there are things in her profile that you can’t imagine yourself living with, (such as religion, children, or smoking, etc.) move on to the next woman.
3. Tune your profile. Don’t put up a lot of B.S.. In fact be totally truthful. But in describing yourself, relate to her interests and stated preferences.
4. Include a photo of yourself on your profile. Even if you closely resemble Quasimodo (Hunchback Of Notre Dame), include a photo presenting yourself as a clean, well-groomed man. Consider having your photo prepared by a professional portrait studio.
5. A Foreign Affair has a feature called “virtual e-mail address” where a women receives e-mail at her real e-mail address by you sending her e-mails to a virtual address at A Foreign Affair.
They also have a feature on their search page where you can make your search selections and check “search only women with virtual e-mail address.”
If you check this option then click search, you will be shown only the women meeting your selection criteria who have a virtual address. Thus, these women have a computer and if she chooses to she will share her e-mail address with you so you can thereafter send unlimited e-mails without using A Foreign Affair’s services at all.
As of 12/29/11 there are over 40,000 women’s profiles on A Foreign Affair’s Loveme.com site. Of those women, over 16.000 have a virtual e-mail address.

In summary, if you come across stuff on the Internet claiming that A Foreign Affair will bankrupt you in your quest to find a foreign bride, regard those claims as TOTAL GARBAGE intended to drive you to an inferior agency.
You can find and communicate with the love of your life VERY inexpensively using A Foreign Affair.
And there are several things you can do to improve your odds. Read and follow the tips we laid out for you above.
