I first hit this topic in my recent post A Foreign Affair Review - Scammers But the notion that all Russian women are scammers is very prevalent on the Internet. So it’s a topic that deserves special attention because it’s TOTALLY NOT TRUE.
Yes there are Russian women scammers just like there are Asian women scammers, Latin women scammers, and American women scammers. But to categorize an entire nationality by the word “ALL” is grossly unfair to the vast majority of Russian women that are not scammers.
It’s likely that the ill-deserved reputation came to be because the actual Russian women scammers are very good at it. Why is that?
Life is not easy in Russia. Even in rich cities like Moscow and St. Petersburg, it’s tough for the average person to make ends meet. The economies of Russia and the FSU (former Soviet Union) countries are nowhere near as robust as American and Western European economies. And it’s been like that for a very long time.
Consequently, for the sake of survival, Russian people have developed personal characteristics to cope. Russians are resolute, resilient, and extremely resourceful. So when it comes to Russian women scammers, that’s who you’re up against.
PLUS we’re talking about a population that, on average, is highly educated and technology savvy.
So this makes for quite a formidable package, yes? Take a woman who is determined, persistent, and clever and is inclined to lie, cheat and steal. Now give that woman a high level of education and a great tool like the Internet. Like magic, oui la, you have a Russian woman scammer. And she can create devilishly ingenious ways to accomplish her goals.
But let’s get something straight here. There is nothing about Russian culture or belief systems that pre-disposes people to lie, cheat, and steal. In fact, quite the opposite is true. Russian culture is deeply rooted in the Christian religion. But just like in America, not everybody, gets/follows the message.
There are “bad apples” in every social group. But Russian women scammers DO NOT comprise any larger a percentage of the general population than do Latin, Asian, or American women for their respective populations.
So this thing that all Russian women are scammers is a MYTH. It’s source is due to the success of a few and it’s perpetuated for various nefarious reasons. Now I don’t say here “have no fear”, because it is a fact that some Russian women will scam you. But it’s not an issue to be paranoid about or to “scratch off” Russia as a potential source for your “dream girl” to marry. Just keep your wits about you, use common sense and you’ll be fine.
The following 5 women from A Foreign Affair are Asian, Latin, and Russian. Click on the photos and study the profiles carefully. Look for inconsistencies, exaggerations and other indications that a particular women is being less than genuine. If you see that, perhaps she’s a scammer, perhaps not, just language challenged. But if you are searching for a foreign bride, get into the habit of doing this close analysis.
And for each woman, it’s a good idea to click the search link at the bottom of her profile to see other women from her region/city. Make comparisons. Yes this can be tedious, but it can save you a lot of grief if you manage to spot an insincere woman early so you can move on to the genuine women you’re interested in.
