Hello again from Gary; I thought it would be good to clear up something just in case there’s any confusion. Not all Russian women come from Russia. When the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, it broke up into 15 separate independent republics. They are Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia (officially The Russian Federation), Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.
These are the countries that the majority of Russian women come from, although in fact, most of them come from Russia (10,428 in 2005) with even more (12,201 in 2005) coming from Ukraine. Roughly 12,000 came from the other 13 countries combined, with the highest number (1995 in 2005) coming from Belarus. (The numbers given here are from Department of Homeland Security immigration statistics).
I don’t understand why there is such a disparity in the numbers from the high emmigration countries (Russian and Ukraine) to the low (all others), but I suspect that lack of communications infrastructure or high usage cost coupled with low income levels are major reasons. Also it’s possible that these other countries have restrictions on people leaving the country. If that’s the case, I suggest that if you do happen to become interested in a woman from Estonia or Georgia, or wherever, do some serious research on laws pertaining to bringing a woman from that country to America before you invest your heart and money.
I have much more to write in the future about where to find a Russian wife. Until then, best wishes to you and yours.
Gary.
